nib Group has launched its third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), furthering its commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in achieving improved health and wellbeing.

Through its RAP process, nib has embedded cultural protocols, policies and practices across its businesses.

nib Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ed Close, said as part of its RAP work, nib has focused on support for reconciliation, creating a safe workplace and celebrating days of cultural significance.

In collaboration with other private health insurers, nib Group has also worked with peers in the health sector to establish the RAP Reconciliation Industry Network Group, known as the PHI Health Circle.

“We look forward to fostering broader collaboration across the private health insurance sector to progress reconciliation collectively through the PHI Health Circle,” Mr Close said.

nib also continues to be an active partner in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing through the nib foundation.

Since 2020, nib foundation has invested more than $1 million with community-led First Nations organisations, benefiting more than 1,000 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and improving health outcomes.
