Calling an ambulance can be critical, but an unexpected bill can add unnecessary stress to the situation. Get peace of mind with our emergency ambulance cover.
Emergency ambulance only cover includes:*
One-day waiting period.
Emergency ambulance transport to hospital provided by a state or territory ambulance service paid at 100% of the cost.
Emergency ambulance call out fees (where the member is treated at the scene by paramedics, and it is determined that transport to hospital is not required).
Transport between hospitals, when transfer is medically necessary (due to the existing Hospital not specialising in the treatment needed).
No hospital excess is applicable for this service.
The cost of an ambulance in each state
Medicare, opens in a new tab doesn't cover the cost of emergency transport or ambulance services to hospital. As a result, ambulance costs are different in each state and territory, with a few exemptions and exceptions.
For example, QLD and TAS residents, and pension and health care card holders may be covered for ambulance services by State ambulance schemes.

Benefits for ambulance transportation is only payable where the provider describes the transportation as an ‘Emergency’.
