Applications open for nib foundation's 2016 Community Grant program

Applications for nib foundation, opens in a new tab's eighth annual Community Grant funding round open from 1 to 30 June 2016.

Eligible charities with DGR status are invited to apply for grants of between $5,000 to $50,000, to support community based initiatives that foster improved health and wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable and at risk groups, in both metropolitan and regional areas of Australia.

This year, the foundation seeks to partner with 10 to 15 new community organisations that offer practical approaches to addressing the needs of its two main focal groups, young people and carers.

nib foundation Executive Officer, Amy Tribe, highlighted the foundation's continued commitment to both groups given the growing, unmet health needs they face.

"Carers and young people were identified as our key target groups when the foundation was first established. These are two cohorts where we believe our support can make a real difference whether that's by trialling new and improved approaches, delivering targeted and age-appropriate programs, or building capacity to cope with health challenges," said Ms Tribe.

"Together with our partners, we have played a key role in improving the health and wellbeing of more than 45,000 Australians who have participated in the programs we fund. We are excited to see what this year's applications offer and look forward to working with the successful candidates to continue to increase our reach and impact."

Since its establishment in 2008, nib foundation has committed over $15 million in funding to more than 95 partnerships that have, and continue to make, a real and measurable difference to specific health challenges faced by vulnerable and disadvantaged Australians.

The 2016 Community Grant Application Form and Guidelines, opens in a new tab are now available to download. Applications can be submitted via the online submission form, which will be available when the grant round opens on Wednesday, 1 June 2016.
