Suspend or resume your policy (International members)

Suspending your policy is like putting your membership on hold. During this time, you won’t have to pay premiums, but you also won’t be able to use any services or make claims.

What happens to your waiting periods if you suspend your policy?

If you suspend your policy before completing your waiting periods, you’ll need to continue serving them once your policy resumes. The waiting periods do not reset or expire during the suspension.

Suspending your health cover

For overseas workers, we can suspend your health cover if:

  • You're travelling outside Australia for more than four weeks and less than 24 months, and

  • You've been with nib for at least one month.

To apply for suspension, contact us, opens in a new tab via chat or phone with your travel dates before you leave.

To resume coverage, simply reach out to us when you return.

Suspend or resume your policy (Australian residents)

Suspending your policy is like putting it on hold - you won't pay any premiums. If you suspend your policy, you won't be able to claim for services on your policy during this time.
