nib supports Yes vote for Constitutional change

Our support for the uluru statement from the heart and voice

nib’s vision is for all Australians to enjoy better health and wellbeing.

As a healthcare company, we recognise the contribution we can make by working in partnership with First Nations peoples to improve health outcomes. Self-determination is key to enabling First Nations peoples to take control of the social and economic factors that impact their health, wellbeing and equitable access to healthcare.

We re-state our support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart in full, acknowledging the importance of this reconciliation milestone.

As a company, nib also supports the Yes vote for Constitutional change to give First Nations peoples the ongoing ability to make representations to the Parliament on matters that relate to them. We believe the Voice will deliver positive outcomes for Australia.

The referendum on the Voice is a decision for the Australian people. We recognise and respect diverse views and experiences, including those of our employees, members, shareholders and others associated with our company.

nib is a company with deep knowledge and experience in healthcare. No one should doubt the unacceptable gaps in access to healthcare and health outcomes that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to experience. We believe a better Voice will be a positive step toward closing these gaps.

We invite you to read our support for the Voice, and the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
