It was a night to remember for NSW fans and one lucky Good Sports Junior kid was there to experience first-hand all the on and off-field action!
Last Sunday, the NSW Blues took out the 2018 State of Origin Series and one young lucky Blues fan and Good Sports Clubmember, Luke, was there to witness all the action live from the ground!
We were delighted to take Luke on a special VIP behind the scenes tour of the training sheds after he was selected by his fellow Good Sports junior league members for his admirable team spirit.
Two years ago, Luke broke his leg to then discover through scans that he had a cyst where the bone should be growing. Since then, Luke has not been able to play contact sport but that hasn't stopped him from supporting what he loves most - rugby league!
We've been told Luke still attends training every Tuesday and Thursday and is there to cheer the team on at every game. He plays the important role of handing out the jerseys to the team in the sheds, warming them up, running them out onto the field and, importantly, leading them in the victory song after a successful match.
This opportunity was made possible thanks to the nib and NSW Blues partnership working alongside our national partner program, Good Sports, which aims to create positive sporting environments that foster the health and wellbeing of participants and their families.
