How nib gives back

Employee fundraising events

Employees can support a charity close to their heart through our fundraising campaigns. We also respond in times of needs by raising funds for disaster relief and recovery.

Volunteering

Our people give back to our local communities and charity partners through community and skilled volunteering. It's always a rewarding and eye-opening experience, helping our community partners achieve their mission.

Regular giving

We support our employees to make regular donations to their chosen charity through payroll giving, and nib foundation matches every donation, doubling the impact.

Delivering food with a purpose

We help our long-time partner, OzHarvest, rescue quality leftover food from supermarkets, clubs and restaurants to provide meals for those who need it most.

Our employees volunteer in the food rescue van in Newcastle, while our Sydney teams support the Cooking for a Cause program which turns unwanted food into meals for those in need.

Cooking with compassion

nib employees cook hearty meals for families of seriously ill children staying at Ronald McDonald Houses in Randwick, Westmead and Newcastle, where we are proud to sponsor rooms. With over 600 families staying per year at the Newcastle home and almost 3,000 in the two Sydney homes, our employees love the chance to help create a home-like environment for these families.

"I really loved volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, it was pretty special being able to serve the parents and kids directly and know that we were making at least part of their day a bit easier during what is a really difficult time."

Lending a helping hand at Lifeline’s warehouse

Through drought, bushfire, floods and the pandemic, demand for Lifeline Australia services has increased dramatically. Our employees assist Lifeline in sorting donated goods in their Hamilton warehouse, ready to be sold at Lifeline Shops. This is essential in supporting the organisation’s ability to deliver frontline services such as crisis support and counselling, with more than 50% of Lifeline Direct's operating revenue sourced from its retail operations.

Rolling up our sleeves to donate blood

Our employees frequently donate blood and plasma through Lifeblood. As each donation can save up to three lives, we are proud of our employees’ on-going support to Lifeblood.
