Our 2020 Health Smart Grants are now open!
We’re offering six $40,000 grants through our annual Health Smart Grant round to help empower Aussie youth and young adults to be health smart in their everyday lives.
If successful, you will also be given the chance to double your funding, through our public ‘People’s Vote’ where two of the six charities will receive an extra $40,000 as decided by nib members and the wider community.
Currently in Australia, only 41% of adults have the health literacy levels needed to make positive and informed health choices. And, the reality is, that far too many Australians die prematurely or live for many years with poor physical and mental health and wellbeing related to chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, which are often preventable.
By engaging and empowering Aussies to be more health smart in their everyday lives we hope to help change this by giving people the information and skills they need to better understand health risks and adopt healthier lifestyle behaviours that will set them up for life.
Registered charities are encouraged to read the Health Smart Grant guidelines, opens in a new tab to ensure alignment with the grant criteria, and submit their Expression of Interest by Tuesday, 30 June 2020.
