The people have spoken! Meet our 2021 People’s Choice recipient
This year's People’s Choice recipient is Cancer Council NSW! They’ll be using the extra $40k to continue to raise awareness about the link between alcohol and cancer to empower young Aussies to make better choices when it comes to alcohol consumption.
This year we put it to nib shareholders to have their say on who would receive $40,000 in extra funding to support projects that empower youth and young adults to lead healthier lives. We’re thrilled to announce that almost 1,000 people had their say and Cancer Council NSW received the highest number of votes!
This brings Cancer Council’s total funding to $80,000, which they’ll use to further amplify their social media campaign and share the important message of the risks between alcohol vs cancer.
Cancer Council’s social media campaign not only spreads awareness of the health risks of drinking alcohol, they also direct Australians to the NSW Drinks Meter app, which provides personalised feedback about alcohol use based on advice from doctors. Through the campaign, Cancer Council aims to equip young Aussie’s with the right tools and information to make more informed decisions when it comes to alcohol consumption and reduce the risk of more serious long-term health issues.
We’d like to thank nib shareholders for voting in our People’s Choice Vote. A special shout out to our incredibly deserving charity partners Cancer Council NSW, Butterfly Foundation and Monash University, who we continue to support through our Health Smart Grants.
